Welcome to the Bricco/Bricault Open Genealogy Project
I have always been interested in finding out about my ancestors. A few years ago, after the death of my father, I started to research his ancestry and managed to trace the Bricco line back to Julien Bricault, who was born in France about 1615. I used mostly "free" sources for my information, so the validity of some of the information contained in my database may be questionable. For the most part, I've tried to be as accurate as possible in my research but there are many blanks that still need to be filled in. Hopefully, this open genealogy project will help you in your search to fill in some of your blanks.
As you will notice, there have been many branches added to our family tree, many of which are not direct decendents of Julien Bricault. For example, I have added the Hartman/Nelson line from my wife's side of the family and the Fischer/Miller line from my mother's. If you choose to participate in this project, I encourage you to do the same. We can never have too many relatives, even if they are not in the direct line of where we started.
This site was launched in September, 2009. There is still much work to be accomplished, so please bear with us while we continue to build the website. If you have comments or feedback or would like to see something included on this website, please let us know! I intend this site to be driven by its users and its contributors.
